The first time I picked up a camera I knew that I had found a passion that would grow inside of me for many years. While working, while (still) home schooling our young daughters, while taking care of all of the business that life generates, I usually have a camera within close reach. Not only has this been a way to continually foster my passion for the craft, but more important, it has kept all of the years of our changing family within sight.

In 1993 I had the pleasure of studying photography with the late Rita Hammond of Cazenovia. Her wit, spirit, insight and zealous character were unmatchable; these things remain to be a source of inspiration to me.
In 1999 I was fortunate enough to begin working for photographers David McGough and Ann Clifford. It was with their celebrity photo agency, DMIPhoto, that I was first introduced to the world of digital photography. My experience with them was invaluable.

I soon realized my desire to effectively combine digital technology with the substance and style found in classic photojournalism.

The tears that fill a mother’s eyes as she adjusts her daughter’s wedding veil…the emotion felt by a father as he guides his daughter down the aisle, giving her to the man, who from that moment on will take care of his girl…a bride and groom’s first kiss as husband and wife…these are the images that give form to our most special days. These are the moments I aim to capture.

Life’s most delicate moments are changing before we have the time to fully absorb the simplest joys that come with them. It is my goal to preserve these moments – these pleasures, the love and the beauty in the spirit that is you, your life, your story.
